And most people simply don't have the time to do daily shopping. I could if I wanted, but there are other things I'd rather do with my time. In Europe, granted, shopping daily is in part how one interacts with the community, but as you say, the situation is much different than in the US - or even here in the UK.Shelleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10239488936038510294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8242926316765633205.post-86418181174802302172011-09-20T13:20:24.662-05:002011-09-20T13:20:24.662-05:00@Marcela--For some reason, I find salads very time...@Marcela--For some reason, I find salads very time-consuming.
@Graciesmom-Also fried eggs--more within my skills!
2sewing-yum
@Duchesse--I'm speaking more of the American situation. This lack of a system is wasteful of both time and money."

I'm puzzled that you equate shopping for each meal and "going out". We often shop for each day's groceries, since we live 5 min. from a huge farmer's market. I don't view it as a waste of time, it's a pleasure, and reinforces the bond between grower and consumer. We walk there and back. (This is also common in Europe.)

Anyway: a box of pasta, olive oil, garlic, pancetta. Add chopped parsley or green onions, diced tomato or olives if you have it.Duchessehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09986153653120526776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8242926316765633205.post-80399736447429525572011-09-18T20:14:00.512-05:002011-09-18T20:14:00.512-05:00A slice of cheese on a piece of toast.A slice of cheese on a piece of toast.SewingLibrarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09884510117234994583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8242926316765633205.post-37913530335834663782011-09-18T18:29:51.760-05:002011-09-18T18:29:51.760-05:00poached eggs on toast.poached eggs on toast.Gracie's Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17828791475661605932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8242926316765633205.post-34334253438441368372011-09-18T17:00:27.992-05:002011-09-18T17:00:27.992-05:00Yes, a salad ;)Yes, a salad ;)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10442166824598673183noreply@blogger.com
