A pilot friend( flying the Montreal-Paris route these days) just came back with a box of Laudree macarons for us, the big size. The ganache in these is beyond delicious.
He also brought three raw milk cheeses this week. I had an outstanding house-made pulled pork sandwich on homemade bun today at a tiny corner hangout called Le Pick-Up.
It's a guilty pleasure. Doris made us bacon (huge amounts - it's totally American and you can't get crispy salty bacon in the UK) fried eggs and waffles (with syrup) for breakfast...two days in a row. Disgusting, I know, but my toes curl with pleasure at the memory of it even as I'm embarrassed to type it...
